Unicef Rights of the Child - article 31 (Leisure, play and culture):
Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities.
Every child has the right to relax and play. At St Barnabas we are committed to providing our learners with a wide range of exciting and engaging play opportunities. During playtimes we make full use of our amazing grounds and wonderful resources. Most importantly we have lots of fun!
PLAY, along with the basic needs of nutrition, health, shelter and education, is vital to develop the potential of all children.
PLAY is communication and expression, combining thought and action; it gives satisfaction and a feeling of achievement.
PLAY is instinctive, voluntary, and spontaneous.
PLAY is a means of learning to live, not a mere passing of time.
